Art Description
In these modern times, we all get so caught up in our day to day activities of working, making money and “enjoying” life- especially if we are young. We catch glimpses of elderly people praying and preparing for the unknown future, the impermanence of life, that is death. This artwork is a reminder to myself and my younger friends to keep in touch or to stay connected with our spirituality, to be aware of the impermanence that looms everywhere.

About the Artist
I graduated with a degree in Public Health from Asian University for Women,Bangladesh. Art has always been a big part of my life, the feelings and emotions inside of me could so wonderfully be shared through the art I make. VAST Bhutan has helped me immensely in doing so. The varieties of techniques I have learnt and continue to learn from the members of VAST are abundant. And it keeps fascinating me to make use of and learn different tools/materials. It takes me quite a long time to complete an artwork. Each day I paint with the changes in emotions and thoughts and each day a newer work comes about which makes me feel very attached to what I create. I don’t put much detail on my artwork, but I plan to learn as much from my fellow artists who have graduated from art colleges. I like painting portraits to accept our vanity and also because a moment or an expression can be captured permanently, whereas in reality it is ever changing.
